WooCommerce Chatbot With Live Stock, Prices and Order Status (No Code)

WooCommerce Chatbot With Live Stock, Prices and Order Status (No Code)

Quick Answer

A WooCommerce chatbot can answer from your live store instead of an old product list. Create a read-only REST API key in WooCommerce, paste it into your RSFlowHub chatbot and the chatbot can show current prices, stock and order status as cards. Nothing is copied or uploaded, and customers must give the phone or email on an order before they see its status. It takes about 10 minutes and needs no code.

Most questions in an online store's chat are not general questions. "Is this in stock?", "Is there anything under ₹2,000?", "Where is my order?" The answer changes every day, so a chatbot that learned your catalog from an uploaded file is soon out of date, and it may confidently state an old price. This guide shows how to connect a chatbot directly to WooCommerce, what it can and cannot do, and how customer data stays protected.

Why a normal chatbot gets stock and prices wrong

Most website chatbots answer from a knowledge base: pages, PDFs or a product file you gave them once. That works well for your return policy, because it rarely changes. It fails for anything that changes after the upload:

  • Stock: the bot says "available" for something that sold out this morning.
  • Prices: your sale ended, but the bot still quotes the sale price.
  • Orders: a knowledge base knows nothing about one customer's order, so the customer is sent to your team anyway.

A wrong price in a chat is worse than no answer, because the customer now expects that price. The fix is for the chatbot to read the store at the moment someone asks.

Three ways to give a chatbot your store data

Way Good for The catch
Upload a product file or crawl the siteProduct descriptions and policiesGoes stale, and cannot see orders.
Read only the public pages of the storeBasic stock questions, with no keys to shareUsually no exact stock counts, and no private order lookups.
Connect with a read-only REST API keyLive prices, stock counts and order statusYou create one key, and you must trust the service holding it. That is why it should be read-only.

Before you choose any service, check how it handles order lookups. Ask what a stranger with a guessed order number would see. That one question separates a safe setup from a risky one.

What the chatbot can answer from WooCommerce

Once connected, the RSFlowHub chatbot handles four kinds of question from your store:

  • Product search: "do you have running shoes?" shows product cards with the photo, price, sale price and stock, plus a Show more button.
  • Budget filters, in English or Hinglish: "mujhe red shoes chahiye 2000 ke niche" searches for red shoes up to ₹2,000.
  • Product details: a Details button on each card shows the description and options such as sizes.
  • Order status: "where is my order?" asks for the order number and the phone or email, then shows the status, total and payment state.

It shows only what a shopper could find: draft products and products with the catalog visibility set to hidden never appear, and neither do password-protected ones. Low stock appears as "Only 3 left", out-of-stock items say so, and a product with sizes at different prices says "From ₹499".

Everything else still works
Questions that are not about products or orders, such as your return policy or delivery areas, go on to your knowledge base and the normal AI reply as usual. If a store lookup fails, the chatbot is told not to state prices or stock from memory.

How to connect WooCommerce

Your site must use https, and WordPress permalinks must be set to anything except Plain (Settings → Permalinks).

  1. Create a chatbot in your RSFlowHub dashboard, or open one you already have.
  2. Create a read-only key: in WordPress go to WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API → Add key, and choose Read permission.
  3. Connect the store: in the chatbot open Live data, choose WooCommerce, then enter your store address, the consumer key and the secret.
  4. Set your website address in the chatbot's allowed domains. Order status stays off until you do this, so nobody can call it from another site.
  5. Switch on the answers you want: product search, details, categories and order status.
  6. Add the chat to your site: paste the script tag from the Website widget tab before the closing </body> tag. In WordPress use footer.php or a header and footer plugin such as WPCode.
  7. Test it with a real product and a real order, then check the Recent calls list in the Live data tab.

You do not need to install an RSFlowHub plugin to connect the store. If the keys are refused even though they are right, your hosting may be removing the Authorization header; ask your host to pass it to WordPress.

How order status stays private

An order number alone is easy to guess, because order numbers usually count upwards. So the number is never enough:

  • A second proof is required. The customer must also give the phone or email on the order. Phone numbers compare on the last 10 digits, so +91 and spaces do not matter.
  • Same words for every failure. A wrong phone and an unknown order get the same answer, so nobody can find out which orders exist.
  • Limited tries. Repeated wrong attempts are blocked.
  • Only what answers the question. The card shows status, item count, total and payment state. It never shows a name or address.
  • Nothing sensitive is kept. The phone or email in the chat history is masked, and the saved reply is a short summary.
  • Your keys stay on our server. They are stored encrypted, never reach the visitor's browser and never go in a URL.

Because the key is read-only, the chatbot cannot change a price, cancel an order or edit anything in your store, even by mistake.

What it cannot do yet

  • It only reads. It cannot place, cancel or change an order, or add to a cart.
  • Order lookups use the WooCommerce order ID. A plugin that changes order numbers is not supported yet.
  • No delivery check by pincode from a store connection. That needs a small endpoint of your own; see how to connect a chatbot to your own API.
  • The chatbot's own lines are in English. It understands Hinglish questions, and your product names appear as you wrote them.

What it costs

Live data is available on the Starter plan and above. Each answer from your store uses 1 credit from your plan, and a failed lookup or an order that was not found costs nothing. Current prices in rupees, with GST included, are on the pricing page. You also get the rest of the chatbot: answers from your own content, lead capture and a WhatsApp button.

Key Takeaways

  • A chatbot trained on an uploaded file goes out of date; a connected one reads the store when asked.
  • Use a WooCommerce REST API key with Read permission only.
  • Never accept an order number alone: ask for the phone or email on the order too.
  • Drafts, hidden and password-protected products should never appear in the chat.
  • Keep your knowledge base for policies and everything else that is not live.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, if it is connected to your store instead of learning from an uploaded file. RSFlowHub reads WooCommerce through a read-only REST API key when a customer asks, so the chat shows the current price, sale price and stock.

No developer is needed, and there is no RSFlowHub plugin to install. You create a Read key in WooCommerce and paste it into your chatbot. To add the chat to your site you paste one script tag, in footer.php or through a header and footer plugin such as WPCode.

They should not be able to. The chatbot needs the order number and the phone or email on that order, a wrong phone and an unknown order get the same answer, and repeated wrong tries are blocked. The answer shows status, total and payment state, never a name or address.

No. With a Read key it can only read. It cannot change prices, edit products, place orders or cancel orders.

No. Only published products appear. Drafts, products with catalog visibility set to hidden and password-protected products are left out of search and details.

It understands Hinglish questions such as "mujhe red shoes chahiye 2000 ke niche". The lines it adds around the product cards are in English, and product names appear as you wrote them.

Not yet. Order lookups use the WooCommerce order ID, so a plugin that gives orders different numbers is not supported at the moment.
