Quick Answer
Reply to a Google review in the language the customer used. For a Hindi or Hinglish review, thank the customer by name ("Rahul ji"), mention one real detail, and invite them back. For a negative review, apologise for the specific problem, say what you changed and give a phone number or email to continue offline. Keep it short, use "aap", never argue in public. The 20 examples below are ready to copy, and the free review reply generator can draft a reply in Hindi, Hinglish, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali or Kannada.
Most review reply guides are written for American businesses, with examples in polished American English. Indian customers write differently. A review for a dhaba in Jaipur might be in Hindi, a review for a salon in Pune in Hinglish typed on a phone, and a review for a sweet shop in Ahmedabad in Gujarati. A reply in the customer's own language, with the warmth of "ji" and "zaroor aaiye", feels personal in a way a stiff English template never does. This guide gives you a simple formula and 20 copy-ready replies for Indian businesses.
1. Why reply in the customer's language
When someone searches for "restaurant near me" or "best salon in Indore", they read your star rating, a few recent reviews and your replies under them. Your replies are not really for the reviewer. They are for the next hundred people deciding whether to visit.
- It feels personal. A Hindi review answered in Hindi shows that a real person read it, not a copy-paste template.
- It is easier to read. Many customers are more comfortable reading Hindi or their own language than formal English.
- It shows you know your customers. Local businesses win on trust, and speaking the customer's language is part of that.
You do not need one language for every reply. Answer each review in the language it was written in. An English review gets an English reply, a Hinglish review gets a Hinglish reply.
2. The 5-part reply formula in Hindi
A good reply has the same five parts in any language. Keep the whole reply under about 80 words.
| Part | Hindi phrase | Hinglish phrase |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Thank | आपके रिव्यू के लिए धन्यवाद, राहुल जी। | Review ke liye thank you, Rahul ji. |
| 2. Apologise or appreciate | देरी के लिए हमें सच में खेद है। | Late delivery ke liye sorry. |
| 3. Act | हमने वीकेंड पर स्टाफ़ बढ़ा दिया है। | Humne weekend par extra staff lagaya hai. |
| 4. Invite offline | कृपया हमें [फ़ोन नंबर] पर कॉल करें। | Please [phone number] par call kariye. |
| 5. Close | फिर से ज़रूर पधारें। – टीम शर्मा ढाबा | Phir zaroor aaiye! – Team Sharma Dhaba |
Replace everything in square brackets with your own details before you post. Never put a customer's phone number or order details in a public reply.

8. Tone tips for Indian customers
- Use "aap", never "tum". Even in friendly Hinglish, "aap" is the safe, respectful choice with customers.
- Add "ji" to names. "Rahul ji" sounds warm and polite in both Hindi and Hinglish.
- Avoid very formal Hindi. Everyday words such as "सर्विस", "डिलीवरी" and "स्टाफ़" read more naturally than heavy formal Hindi words.
- Keep the brand name in English if that is how it appears on your board and Google profile, so customers recognise it.
- Do not mix scripts in one sentence. Write either Devanagari Hindi or Hinglish in English letters, not both in the same line.
9. Use the free AI review reply generator
Writing a fresh reply in the right language for every review takes time. The free review reply generator drafts one in a few seconds, with no signup.
- Paste the review. Hindi, Hinglish, English or any other language.
- Pick a tone. Apologetic for 1 and 2 star reviews, friendly for praise.
- Add the star rating and your business name so the reply fits and is signed correctly.
- Choose the reply language: Hindi, Hinglish, Gujarati, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Kannada or English, or keep it the same as the review.
- Edit before you post. Add a real detail and your phone number, and check every promise.
AI writes good Hindi and Hinglish, but quality can vary in other Indian languages. Ask someone who speaks the language to read the reply before you post it, especially for a negative review.
10. Mistakes to avoid
- Google Translate replies. Word-for-word translation of an English template sounds robotic. Write in the language from the start, or use a tool that writes natively.
- The same reply under every review. Customers notice. Mention one real detail each time.
- Arguing in public. Even when the customer is wrong, a calm reply wins the readers.
- Sharing private details. No phone numbers, bills or medical details of the customer in a public reply.
- Offering discounts in public. Settle refunds and offers on the phone, or others will post complaints for a reward.
